Eventful, Emotional, Exhausting

Well... this past week has been nothing short of the above 3...

Firstly, went for a sort of internship with a renowned childcare center... Knew nothing... zilch... Everything has to be learnt on the spot....
It has been the most tiring thing I ever encountered... taking care of a bunch of little children... But at times it has been the most warm and endearing...
Alot of tact and PR is involved too... but i suppose, yes, maybe i could handle it after all...

Mid-week, one of my maternal aunt suddenly passed out while showering and slipped into a coma... And this morning, she passed on... It's just so shocking and so sudden... She has had high blood pressure for quite some years now.. but it has always been under control with meds and diet....
I dunno... I feel somehow... frozen... She had been part of my life for most of my childhood but these few years i seldom saw her, as the way life goes somehow....
When i went to the funeral juz now, and saw her lying there looking peaceful... i felt... floaty... my mind was juz blank... somehow i cant reconcile her passing in some ways... On the surface, my cousins and uncle seem to be taking it ok... But i juz pray for their sakes that, they continue to stay strong in the days after..

As i mentioned, it has been eventful... Headlines all over the world splashed news of Michael Jackson's death... As the world mourns inexplicably for a passe pop icon, i cant help but feel chaos....
New strains of flu viruses, tightened health security measures, murder cases...

Im mentally overwhelmed.

Heard from somewhere: -
The best thing a father can do for his child, is to love the child's mother..
And the best thing a husband can do for his wife, is to take good care of himself...

Happy Father's Day, folks.

Early Father's Day '09

Celebrated Father's Day a week early with lunch at Cafe de Hong Kong in Balestier area... Food was okay, a tad bland in general... Mabbe cos i juz woke up not long before that D:

The herbal? chicken soup was quite nice though... the 'softbones' were boiled until transparent & soft like jelly... And the fried-fishskin was worth more than a mention... crispy like keropok and the only salty thingy... Yummy xD

No food pics here.. was too blur to take any pics... but took a rare shot at the Father-n-son pair during their smokebreaks...

By gosh, getting married really is a crazy affair.. And it starts from the moment you file for marriage!

We thought we were kiasu enough... Setting up a battle-station at his place, we logged in on desktop AND laptop, using TWO(2) separate connections.... Should be safe enough right?
About an hour before midnight, we already started keying in our details into the form fills.. so that they will be 'remembered' and we dont have to type from scratch during the actual filing at midnight..

By 2353, we were already refreshing the ROM main page.... At about 2356, the 'clock' on ROM's side suddenly switched to past the hour, and we literally frantically chiong-ahhhhhh..... filled in the application, aided by our 'shortcuts'.....

That's when the war started:
I clicked 'Submit'.... !@#$%^&*().. Kena 'Runtime Error'.... Die lah dieeee... Relog!
Yes! Dear's side successful submission.. Next select timing... Oh no not many time slots left... QUICK!! *Click*
*processing*... 'Slot Taken'.. aarrrrghhhhhh!
Dear re-selected slot, almost shouting.. :"3+ ok? ok????" Heart pounding, I nearly screamed back :"ok ok, anything! juz take!"
SUCCESS! *proceed to pay $*
Application confirmed 12:01AM.

Both of us needed a puff right after we checked and double checked the email acknowledgment and links from ROM... Phew!

Wa piang eh.
If we were just slightly later, we wouldnt have been able to get married on 9th Sep! Talk about kua zhang lor ._.

In any case, bobi bobi heng ah.. we managed to get a slot on our chosen date..
And like what Dear said... we'll be saying our "Ai Du"s and I will officially be Huang Tai Tai D: =)

Love Locks

Did i mention i juz fell in love?

Was juz browsing in Wisma Isetan when i came across Laundry by Shelli Segal..
Out of the corner of my eye, a blue satin little cocktail dress winked at me... Unable to help myself, i tried it on... My oh my... It is perfect!
A look at the price-tag.. *gulp* $5xx...

Mr. Ng was very much amused at my excitement... He "hmmm...ed" a few times while i twirled around abit... Yeah i know.. it aint exactly the colour nor design for an ROM dress >.<
Reluctantly i changed out of it... Well... I can always get a tailor to remake a similar dress in yellow-satin with a few changes to make it more suitable for the occasion lor D:

Almost right on cue.. I received a call from Goldheart... Our bands are ready for collection.. The resizing of my ring only took 4 days as opposed from the 2 weeks they initially buffered.. Nice...

Andy & Rene Wedding Bands using FX48

Despite the wedding band collection distraction, I couldnt get my mind off the dress.. Wonderful Mr. Ng caved in and said... "If by the end of our search, you cant find anything you like more, just get it lor... Anyway now is GSS mah..."

I sOoOoo LURVE you~!
BOTH of u! xD

It is still Gold for the Heart

Previously we had ordered our tungsten carbide wedding bands from Australia, and the package came a few days ago. To our disappointment, besides getting the width of my ring wrong, the finish and look seriously looks bad...

So much for unscratchable & untarnishable... Bleh >.<

So today we decided to go with the usual, and get a pair of gold bands instead.. Initially juz wanted to recce first.. But when we went into the Celestial Boutique (Goldheart), we realised that rose-gold looks better than white gold, cuz we are considered tanned... sort of liked one of the rose-white pairs.. and KIV-ed it...

Went in Zara and found an extremely handsome casual white blazer that suits Dear to a T... KIV-ed it as well.. as I also havent decided on my dress....

Back to ring searching, sister company Aspial was a disappointment, as their designs really are... omg sibeh old... It's either.. plain, horizontal-grooved, or 'wave'... *facepalm*.. Next!

In the end we went to another Goldheart store in Wisma, and after looking at all of their rings, and prolly testing the good-mannered staff Jasmine's patience abit, we fell in love with another pair of rose-white rings..
Well, to be exact, they are by right not a pair....

Mine is high polish whitegold base with rosegold asymmetrical protruding groove and single diamond, his is high polish whitegold exterior with rosegold indent groove and single diamond... As compared to the first pair we KIV-ed, this pair is sturdier and more stylish... not.. uhh.. "zhat"...
And oh, they look like a pair xD

Wanted to take a pic of the rings.. but store policy doesnt allow photo-taking lol.. My ring still needs resizing from a 7.5 to a 7, therefore it will take approx 2 weeks and we can collect our rings... Nonid so gan cheong take photo oso one lah -.-||

Im really happy with my ring, and glad that the selection process is kind of effortless compared to what we were prepared for... I think Mr. Ng likes his too.. he gives his ring an 8.5/10.. and tells me
"This is a best as it can get; there is no perfect ring."..
I think we can consider it a w0ot rating, from Mr. Ng..

So yeah.. our wedding bands do reflect something about us.. They are by right different, but yet when put together, are exactly the same =P
