Juz came back from Suntec... Starhub is having a dua zong roadshow there... Sibeh alot of pple.. Switched to Starhub under Dear's name so to add on his Hubber discounts.
Was half-half undecided between Samsung UltraTouch S8300 & Samsung Omnia i900 until i reached there n fiddled with the test sets....
My oh my... the S8300 is much better than i900 (mind u, i900 has 'rave' reviews from the PDA-user forums)...
In terms of response rate, display colour, camera etc.. the S8300 really surpasses the i900.. Yeah i900 has some voice-directed GPS... while thats a good geeky tool to have.. it is essentially utterly useless...
A Samsung staff there tried to explain that i900's lag and slow shutter speed is due to the auto-focus function... But S8300 also got auto-focus, but no lag..
And everything u tap on the i900's screen, u will get an approx 0.8sec access lag.. That was on an 'unflooded' test phone only lor... Cannot make it lah..
The brochure pics of S8300 dont do it much justice... It looked like a cheapo phone in pics.. but the real deal is a good to hold, stylish metallic finish darling...
The 'red' parts of the phone aint the same bright shade as the predecessor Samsung phones... it is more of a maroon?/burgundy? tinge.. more suited to this phone's design...
Samsung UltraTouch S8300
For this particular phone, there r the usual Taka & Robinson vouchers.. However we also got a lucky dip chance as we signed 2 mobile lines today on a Hubber account..
Guess what Dear got us from the dip... a Samsung 20inch LCD TV LoL~! Ok sooooo, not all lucky dips are hao siao one =xxx
He also upgraded his HTC Touch Cruise to the newer slimmer version which is for some reason shorter than my phone =\... However HTC didnt give any voucher or etc, but they gave a hot pink iPod Shuffle.. which Dear gladly gave to me mwahahaha
