The (not-so) Big Reveal

For weeks, I told him on the weekend of his bdae, we were gonna catch the sunrise and spend a relaxing weekend in a local hotel... However, on Saturday morning, i woke him up at 5am... Conversation went like this...

*ring ring riiinnnggg*... *Grouchy picked up*
Me: Dear wakey wakey.... we are late..
Him: *grunt* Huh? Orgh...
Me: Really lah.. you have 20mins to get ready.
Him: Har??! *snaps awake*
Me: Gimme a call when u pom finish.. bb.. *click*
25mins later...+ a sudden outpour of thunderstorm...
Him: ppom hao le *teeth chattering*....
Me: Ok, now grab your passport, check that u hv an extra set of clothes, then call me again..
Him: Passport?? Where r we going??
Me: *click*
10mins later... we were in the cab...
Me: *feeling a little lame* ok so im kidnapping u to KL for the weekend... *filled him in on some flight & hotel details*
Him: *eyes barely open, looking spaced-out* Uhh... im kinda blur now.. wait til i get my kopi-peng first...
Me: DDDD:

Upon exit at the LCCT arrival hall.. some touts were selling bus tixs to KL Sentral.. RM8/pax/way.. 50mins journey.. wa so cheap... ok onz.. xD
Parkroyal is juz next to Bukit Bintang monorail station.. so from KL Sentral, we hopped on to the monorail for a 10min ride to the hotel.

We reached the hotel at ard 10am, and upon checking in at level 6 front desk, our room was already ready for us. Although the club rooms cater more for business travellers, it has a touch of sexiness and sleek masculinity.. me likesss...
We did our usual phototaking.. and went to the club lounge for tea juz after noon.. The cakes & sweets were timely to give me that boost to go.. shopping!

Headed to Sungei Wang, nothing much there.. only got a strap for my camera.. Then to Berjaya Times Square.... We still didnt manage to whack finish the whole 10 floors... But ended up with a new Levi's, a pair of couple tees, a short jacket for me, and some sorta filter lens that takes away reflection or the works ("circular polarizer filter", the Wise One said)..

i seriously hv no idea what that was for

making turd-shapes with his shake... brilliant

In the evening, we went back intending to juz plonk our stuff then head to Jalan Alor.. When we entered our room, it smelled lightly of lavender, the butler has already done the turn-down service.. The fruit platter was delivered.. together with some 'good nite' minty chocs... Room has been made up and toiletries and coffee topped up.... niceee...

For some reason, dear took out his psp and soon was vigorously battling dunnowhodunnowad... and..i.. i.. juz dozed off........ To be exact, i konked out... Vaguely i heard him say: "Dear u hungry ma? Wan go eat dinner must tell me huh?".. I think i muttered something in reply.... and then slept on until morning DDD:
Poor him! I was dead to the world & thus he had no dinner! But he said soon after i fell asleep he also bored himself to sleep... so.. not so bad lah =x

bOoo~!

Next morning i woke up quite early at 6+ with a rude shock and the greatest sympathy for the still-sleeping one.... Made myself a few cuppas and sunk into a bubble bath xD
Woke him up at ard 8+ for breakfast... we didnt bother going down to the main cafe, instead we went to the club lounge again... It was pleasantly unoccupied, and the club staff that checked us in the previous day started showing us the breakfast selections, and coo-ed over us abit =P
We lazed around until check-out at 1pm, and before we went shopping again, we left our bags with the concierge, cuz it's no point lugging stuff around until our flight at night.

me with another nice Club staff

We roamed Lot10 and bought the lil' one some clothes, and then went to Low Yat to look at.. what else.. camera stuff & electronics... Scary lor.. that place is like the jam-packed SimLim of yesteryears.... He managed to get a compatible lens cap.. cos he wanted one "with strings" and the original Canon one doesnt have -.-
With plenty of time to roam around until dinner, we went in almost every big n small shopping center in that area... but not much shou huo DDD:

Cannot tahan liao... before 6pm we walked to Jalan Alor to whack the food liao... Dear like machiam steady liao lor.. nonid see menu one... See what he ordered for us 2...

After collecting our 'luggage' (my A4 size sling bag & his laptop backpack) from the hotel concierge, we took the monorail to KL Sentral at 7+pm... Found the KLIA Ekspres counter and bought the tix... waddaya know.. There was a train juz about to leave at that very moment... w0ot..
We were quite impressed with the train... clean.. neat... spacious enuff... Saw quite a few ang mos & biz travelers pulling their luggages onboard the train too... I guess it's the best way to beat the KL traffic during these peak times....
In juz 28mins, we reached KLIA... and upon asking a couple of Abangs, we found the platform for the shuttle bus to LCCT for our flight back home.

waiting for the gate.. the gate...

There was abit of chaos during and after boarding... The departure gates didnt open until almost times up... and u can see alot of the 'red-passport-people' tsking and getting impatient.... When the gates opened... it's like 7th month lor.. pple rushing, uncles aunties ah-mas ah-gongs trying their best to chiong as fast as possible to the plane .___.
Seems like nobody obeyed the 1pc-handcarry rule.. It was getting late, tempers were short there were a few glares and muttered grumbles everytime someone with multiple handcarries and shopping bags jammed up the isle whilst trying to stuff everything into the overhead compartment... When finally all have settled down and the plane was taxi-ing out, the Flight Captain told us that the delay was due to LCCT having only ONE(1) runway, so we had to wait our turn... AND.. he sounded irritated LoL...
I was like O_O...... How could it be? It serves quite a lot more airlines than our silly little BTS, 1 runway can meh? Not dangerous meh? (Ookkk i watched toooo many Air Crash Investigations)
Anyway, we queued up and waited for 2 jumbos to takeoff, then 3 planes to land.. before it's our turn.. Though it was almost a half hour's delay... we still manage to land at 23:35, only 10mins later than scheduled... the Captain steady sia =X

Debrief:
I humbly admit that it was a very rushed getaway to a not-very-interesting choice of location... Initially i had thought about going Turi again, but with that beastly weather, we would juz be holed up in the hut, got sea also no use.....
So i chose a fastfastgo fastfastcomeback place, luckily Dear dun mind shopping one... I was really glad when on the 2nd day he woke up and told me with a sleepy smile... "I think that was the best sleep i had in a long while"....
THAT was worth it xD

A Bit of a Mess

Ok so.. The plans were changed... Initially we were to have dinner at Grand Copthorne as a combined celebration for Dear's bdae and early Mother's Day for his mum.. But his dad came down with high fever.. so the dinner was shelved until next week, as we will be..ahem.. unavailable this weekend.

Instead, we juz 'cut-cake-ed' at his place with the xiaogua. Boy, was that a mess.. Trying to keep him from poking/crushing/chopping the bdae cake b4 Dear cut it was already a feat.. After which, the little one found it uber extremely amusing to 'chop' my plate of cake of all people's -_-......

So.. with cake bits flying everywhere, sticky little chocolatey hands... me n little one shared a plate of.. crumbly chui-chui, but extremely nice, chocolate cake from Four Leaves... and this is how he ended up...

hmm i aint done nothing

awwww.....

Silenced Lamb

Been planning for his bdae, but cant discuss it with him cuz I meant it to be a surprise... hopefully things will go accordingly without a hitch...

Aside from that, had bugged him about what to get him for his bdae for a month... Mr. Picky aint the easiest person to get gifts or plan anything for..

Me: Watch? Seiko & Ellesse etc got some new models.. gunmetal-look one...
Him: Got already leh... Buy another one also dunno when then will wear...
Me: Headphone? Denon? Sennheiser? *google google + pour thru forum pages on wth makes a gd headphone*
Him: Hmm... dunno leh.. dun really use it much also...
Me: -_- DSLR? U've been wanting to get a better one, right?
Him: Ex wor.. with my work pattern also seldom will have time to use it...
Me: Haiyuh! Faster decide lah... no time le.. *tsk*

And so that went on for a few weeks, until last night then managed to finalise and got him his gift a few days short of the actual day. He went through a few models, like Nikon D90, Canon 450D/40D/500D etc before deciding on Canon 50D at Tampines 1.

The lifestyle concept store Click! at #02-01 offered us a nice deal. The items are fully authentic, mint, warrantied, 'non-export-sets', and the staff knows their stuff. Easterners who intend to purchase the likes, please dont go to the Superstores to get chopped, or Funan/Simlim to get scammed .__.

Anyway, Mr. P is still undecided on which longer range additional lens to get... so...hopefully can get it b4 'that' day.

Canon EOS 50D Kit 1

On the topic of snap-snaps.. got myself a Lumix FX48 last month... Aint the slimmest of slim for compact cameras.. But it has a balance of enough optical zoom + MP, and other 'smart' features... The colour? Pink, of course <3

Panasonic Lumix FX48

Back to the subject of the bdae thingys... The only thing i didnt managed to keep my mouth shut on, was revealing my intentions to send a 3D Man Utd Bikini Cake to his office.. I mean.. i had to dig some info on whether the certain mentally somewhere-defunct boss of his has heart problems anot what.... Anyway, Mr. P veto-ed it... Meh.

And people say women are difficult. No prizes for which gender said that...

Nothing much to Muarck about

Dear's mum jio-ed us to take a one-day trip to Muar with her, along with many uncle & auntie frens of hers. Oh well.. hmm Muar... google says it has alot of good food.. so 6am and off we go~

the coach we spent most of our time in =p

dear's mum and her always-bu-jian fren lol

First "hmm-im-not-so-sure" Oprah moment was when the tourguide boarded at jb checkpoint. Although she's as loud as a toad, nobody could make out what she's talking about. Croaking voice, questionable microphone 'skills', and lame "what-u-toking" jokes that even the aunties find a pain. Well, nvm about her, we thought, the day is young & we r all hungry for breakfast. We stopped for makan somewhere (forgot name)... and seems like the whole world is out for a one-day trip too... endless coaches stopped for breakfast after us with hordes of chatty uncles & aunties.

After dropping us at some YoYo brand local delights place for the aunties to scatter their ringgits, we arrived at a temple in Batu Pahat (or was that Yong Peng? nvm..). The other folks went to pray while me and dear seeked shelter and cam-whored..

he claims that's a 'scholar's pose'...

he can actually talk like that =.=

Next stop was some temple & fishing area at the end of another series of ulu windings, and the folks got their chances to 'touch-fish'... as in.. go some pond thingy and touch the fishes there for luck... We dont really know much cuz we uhh.. stayed outside again ._.

pretty much my sentiments too, honey

After lunch, we are finally going Muar, or so we thought. Ended up, the only Muar soil we stepped on, was that small plot of land outside some temple again. There were some stalls selling beads & stuff, coconuts, and durians outside.. so dear and I had some coconut to chill off (did I mention that it was a horribly unbelievably hot day, and it was my first coconut ever? hurhur).. When his mum was done with her prayers, me & her bought some crystal bracelets, and they makaned some durians.

Another long ride later, we arrived at "Long Cheng" (i suppose it's Dragon City, or something)... Big-hole tour guide called it a 'shopping center'... but it's juz a darn building with the existence of only one shop, which of course, it's local delights again. Bought some frozen otak-otak, breadcrumb otak-otak, for ourselves and one of dear's colleague. Dinner came and went, and then it was time to head home.

Debrief:
According to dear's calculations, from 6am til dinner time 6pm, we spent less than 3hours outside the coach, the rest was in the coach watching palm tree plantations pass by.
We've never taken this kinda one-day trip to Msia.. so we were kinda expecting us to zoom to Muar when they tell us Muar day-tour lol..
Dear said at the end of the day he still doesnt know where he's been and what is Muar like.. so he is very buay gam buan and wanna go back to Muar sometime without a tourgroup... I told him.. "as much as i love u.. you r on your own about that, seriously."
It aint that bad, if you consider that we seldom get to spend one whole day with our parents nowadays.. But yeah, we both agreed that we will rather take the 10-12 hour journey to Penang, than another of this muarcks experience ;)

Bangkok - Too Much to See, Too Little Time

Took a short trip to BKK during my birthday. All expenses paid by His Highness "Juz-Take" xD.

Only managed to cover Pratunam/Siam area... MBK, Central Mall, Platinum Mall, street stalls along every lane etc... and of course, Naraya madness hurhur~... No chatuchak and riverside? Well.. probably end of this year when dear's course is over.

A couple of days after we returned, BKK broke out in chaos... bombs, airport closures, and the works... was counting my lucky stars we were not caught in any of it *phew*..

Anyways.. some pics to share.. not much tho.. legs were walked bare and hands were laden with parcels most of the time. Sweet!
